The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, and once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat. This results in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin, revealing an improved chin profile.

What is Bellafill®?
Bellafill® is a smooth, collagen-based dermal filler with polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres. The collagen gel in Bellafill® provides immediate volume and lift to correct wrinkles and acne scars. Once injected, these microspheres stay in place and create a base that provides structural support for smoother-looking skin.
How long does it last?
The effectiveness and patient satisfaction rates of Bellafill® have been established through 5 years when used to correct nasolabial folds, and 12 months when used to correct acne scars.13
What are the microspheres in Bellafill® made of?
The microspheres are made of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), a biocompatible material that has been safely used in medical implants and other devices for more than 65 years.
How does it work?
The collagen in Bellafill® provides immediate volume and lift for results that you can enjoy as soon as you leave the office. Over time, the collagen is reabsorbed while the PMMA microspheres are left behind. They create a supportive base that allows more of your own collagen to develop, resulting in smoother-looking skin in the long term.
Where and how is Bellafill® available for purchase?
Bellafill® is only available through physicians – including Hunt Valley Laser & Skin Care Center.
Will it work for me?
In a clinical trial, Bellafill® was shown to work equally well on both male and female patients with a variety of skin types.12 If you have a history of severe allergies, have a known allergy to bovine collagen, are allergic to lidocaine, have a bleeding disorder, or are prone to thick or excessive scar formation, let your doctor know prior to your treatment.
Is it safe?
Bellafill® has been proven safe through 5 years in the largest and longest prospective dermal filler study ever completed.12 In short, yes!
When will I see results?
Bellafill® replaces lost volume in the skin below the indentation for correction that is both immediate and lasting.
What's the downtime?
You can return to your normal activities right away. However, you may experience some temporary swelling, redness, pain, bruising, lumps or bumps, itching, and discoloration at the treatment site. Keep in mind that these symptoms are usually temporary, resolving within 1 to 7 days.
Who can receive treatment with Bellafill?
To be eligible for Bellafill®, patients must be 21 or older and receive the required skin test prior to treatment. In clinical studies, Bellafill® was shown to work in both men and women with a variety of skin types. If you have a history of severe allergies, are allergic to bovine collagen, are allergic to lidocaine, have a bleeding disorder, or are prone to irregular scarring, let your doctor know prior to your treatment. For a full list of contraindications, contact your doctor or check out our Instructions for Use.
How much does Bellafill cost?
The cost of Bellafill® varies depending on how many syringes your doctor recommends. During your consultation, your doctor can personalize a treatment plan that fits your budget and time.
How long has Bellafill been available in the U.S.?
Bellafill® was approved by the FDA to treat nasolabial folds in October 2006, under the trade name ArteFill®. In December 2014, Bellafill® was approved by the FDA for the correction of certain types of moderate to severe acne scars in patients over 21.
Perlane contains the same hyaluronic acid components as Restylane, but is thicker and is used when more augmentation is desired. Restylane®/Perlane® is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as smile lines (nasolabial folds).
Restylane® / Perlane® is the first cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane®/Perlane® is a crystal clear gel called NASHA, or Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid. NASHA is biodegradable and fully biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid.
Yes. Restylane® / Perlane® has been used by dermatologists and plastic surgeons since 1996 worldwide. There is limited risk of animal-based transmission or allergic reaction. Restylane®/Perlane® is fully biocompatible and allergy testing is not required. Restylane®/Perlane® contains trace amounts of gram-positive bacterial proteins and should not be used by clients with a history of allergies to such material. After your treatment, you might have some redness or swelling. This will normally last less than seven days. Sunbathing and cold outdoor activities should be avoided until any redness or swelling disappears. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should not use Restylane®/Perlane®.
Restylane® / Perlane® has been used in more than 3 million treatments in over 60 countries to correct a variety of wrinkles. In the United States, the FDA has approved Restylane®/Perlane® for wrinkles and folds like the ones from the nose to the corners of the mouth.
Restylane® / Perlane® is proven to deliver long-lasting results. Studies have shown that Restylane®/Perlane® effects generally last for about six months. Restylane®/Perlane® stabilization technology helps maintain the cosmetic effect until the injected material is nearly gone.
Restylane® / Perlane® is a natural, cosmetic filler. In contrast, BOTOX® Cosmetic is a substance that blocks nerve transmission and relaxes the underlying muscles. Many clients have been very pleased after receiving treatment with both products.
Radiesse® is a safe, next generation cosmetic dermal filler that is setting a new standard for the correction of facial lines and wrinkles such as Nasolabial Folds. Years of rigorous clinical studies prove that Radiesse® lasts longer than the former leading filler, to safely fill and correct smile lines, Nasolabial Folds and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. Radiesse® is made of unique calcium-based Radiesse® microspheres suspended in a natural gel that is injected into the skin through a simple, safe and minimally invasive procedure. Simply put, Radiesse® treatments deliver a natural look that lasts.
Radiesse® cosmetic dermal filler can address many facial aesthetic and corrective needs. Because the results are natural looking and longer lasting, many clients turn to Radiesse® to achieve a correction that revives and rejuvenates their appearance. No matter if your goals are to correct facial lines and wrinkles or to refresh your appearance, Radiesse® provides a safe, cost-effective and convenient treatment option.
Radiesse® works below the skin’s surface. Tiny calcium-based microspheres form a “scaffold” to support and stimulate the growth of your own collagen to create a natural, full, youthful look. Radiesse® does more than just temporarily fill-in facial lines and wrinkles it rebuilds your skin’s foundation, without the risks associated with permanent fillers.
Over time, your body absorbs the gel carrier while collagen has started to grow and infiltrate the area, replacing the gel with your own, natural tissue. The Radiesse® Microspheres continue to provide the support and structure for your body to grow new tissue and collagen until the Microspheres are also safely and naturally absorbed into your body.
Yes. Over 250,000 people have experienced Radiesse® and more than 4,000 health care professionals have been trained to provide Radiesse® treatments. Through years of rigorous industry and independent research worldwide, Radiesse® has been shown to be safe and effective. With Radiesse®, you get safe, clinically tested, FDA Approved reliability.
If you are beginning to notice facial wrinkles, lines and folds, you may be an excellent candidate for a Radiesse® treatment.
Over time, tissue volume diminishes, leaving what is commonly seen as lines and wrinkles, including the deepening of Nasolabial Folds, accentuated smile lines (sometimes called “marionette lines”), fallen cheek pads and sagging jaw lines. Radiesse® can be injected into the skin in order to compensate or correct these areas. By using your body’s ability to grow collagen and regenerate tissue, Radiesse® produces natural looking results for a fresh, rested, healthy appearance that still looks like you.
Radiesse® is injected into the skin through a simple, safe, quick, and minimally invasive procedure. With the use of a local anesthetic, Radiesse®treatments have little to no downtime, with most clients returning to normal activities soon after treatment.
The results are immediate. Radiesse® continues to deliver results as it works with your body to stimulate new collagen and regenerate tissue. Results typically last a year or more, longer than the former leading cosmetic dermal filler, saving you time and money. Since results may vary, we will do our very best to manage your expectations.
Many clients will achieve their desired result after just one treatment. Because Radiesse® is a longer-term cosmetic enhancement, and to ensure your satisfaction with the treatment, we might schedule a follow-up visit, where a touch-up treatment might be recommended.
Normal, injection-related reactions such as mild irritation, edema, swelling, itching, discoloration, or tenderness at the injection site may occur. These conditions typically resolve on their own within one to two days, but may last longer.
Radiesse® is biocompatible, meaning there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction. You do not need to undergo skin allergy testing, common in certain animal-based or permanent filler agents, prior to treatment. However, if you believe you are having an allergic reaction to Radiesse®, seek medical attention immediately.
No. Treatment results are relatively long-lasting, but not permanent. Over time the tiny calcium-based microspheres gradually break down into basic calcium and phosphate ions which are safely and naturally absorbed into your body, leaving your own collagen in their place.
Juvéderm™ is a “next-generation” filler. It is made from hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to hydrate and add volume. Hyaluronic acid may diminish with age, contributing to the formation of wrinkles and folds. Juvéderm™ injectable gel works to correct this by restoring hyaluronic acid in your skin, helping to smooth wrinkles and folds.
Juvéderm™ employs its unique manufacturing process to provide the highest concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any currently available hyaluronic acid dermal filler for long-lasting results. This advanced manufacturing process also works to create a smooth consistency gel that flows easily into the skin during the injection process and provides a smooth, natural look and feel—so everyone will notice (but no one will know!). Juvéderm™ injectable gel is the only filler available with this smooth consistency gel—other existing hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are made of granular consistency gels.
Juvéderm™ is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has demonstrated its safety and effectiveness in persons of color.
Juvéderm™ injectable gel is a nonsurgical treatment that requires no allergy skin test and minimal recovery or downtime.
Juvéderm™ injectable gel is available in two formulations — Juvéderm™ Ultra for versatility in contouring and volumizing facial wrinkles and folds, and Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus, a more robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and wrinkles. This allows your healthcare professional to tailor treatment to meet your unique needs.
You should see an immediate improvement in the treatment areas. Most clients need one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing, and the results last up to 12 months or more. However, results may vary and correction is temporary. Supplemental “touch up” treatments may be required to achieve and maintain optimal results.
Dysport is a simple, effective, non-surgical treatment that works by relaxing facial muscles on the forehead, thereby reducing and smoothing away frown-lines and wrinkles.
By temporarily immobilizing the muscles you use to frown, Dysport can smooth out those lines, restoring a more youthful, less stressed expression to your face. Because you will be physically unable to frown after treatment, you may even lose the urge to frown. The lasting effect of treatment with Dysport can differ between individuals after which further courses of treatment may be necessary. Speak with your specialist about the results you can expect with Dysport.
Dysport is injected into a muscle with an insulin sized needle.
Your injection may be given into more than one area at a time, depending on the condition being treated.
BOTOX® neurotoxin treatment helps control the symptoms of severe underarm sweating when topical medicines do not work well enough by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops. BOTOX® injections are expected to temporarily stop the production of excessive sweat in the treated areas only. Sweat continues to be produced elsewhere.
Your sweat doesn’t go anywhere or get backed up because the sweat simply is not produced in the areas treated with BOTOX®. Remember, the rest of your body is free to produce moisture normally.
BOTOX® treatment is proven. In a clinical study involving 322 patients with severe underarm sweating:
* Results were based on patients’ responses to a questionnaire (The Hyperhidrosis Disease Severity Scale [HDSS]) that assessed the extent to which underarm sweating affected their daily activities
BOTOX® neurotoxin treatment is not a cure; your symptoms will return gradually, and you will know when the time is right for another treatment. Your healthcare provider will recommend a treatment strategy to ensure that you receive the best possible results with BOTOX® treatment.
BOTOX® Cosmetic has been used safely and successfully for medical purposes since 1989 and for wrinkle therapy since 2002. In the amounts used for wrinkle therapy, the only possible side effects are temporary and localized to the area of injection.
As with any injection, there can be temporary swelling, redness, bruising, headache or local discomfort. Rarely, clients have been reported to develop a slight lowering of the eyelid or slight lowering of the forehead. This is temporary and resolves in a few weeks. Some clients may have an uneven or incomplete response to the treatment. BOTOX® Cosmetic does not reduce the action of the muscles of facial expression distant from the site of treatment. Clients with neuromuscular disorder should inform their doctor before therapy. BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment should not be administered to women who are pregnant or nursing.
The most common areas of use of BOTOX® Cosmetic are the frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal forehead lines, and crow’s feet. On occasion, some other areas may be treated as well.
The results of your BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment will begin to appear in three to four days. The effect will last three to four months, after which the treated muscles will gradually regain their action. When the lines begin to reappear, a simple repeat treatment is all that is necessary to maintain the desired results.
